Q2- Why Did You Originally Decide To Dedicate Production To Creating PPE For The Pandemic?
The COVID - 19 pandemic has created an unprecedented demand for PPE, mostly in the healthcare industry, which had resulted in their shortages around the world. Mallcom had ramped up their production of medical textiles and facemasks to meet growing market demands and for ensuring supplies of essential PPEs to frontline healthcare professionals. As the number of coronavirus cases around the world continued to increase, the potential demand for personal protective equipment, or PPE started increasing.
In response, we at Mallcom ramped up production of medical PPE, FFP2 masks, 2ply and 3ply masks to meet the demands.
Q3- Are Fake Products A Grave Problem For PPE Manufacturers? If Yes, Then What Steps PPE Makers And The Government Should Take To Solve The Problem Of Counterfeits?
Yes, we are facing huge issues on fake products while selling online where other sellers try to sell on our listing without any authorization. But so far, each time the marketplaces have responded with common solution to this issue to place a sample order for problematic listing from unauthorized sellers, which lead to either that seller account closer or removal of few listings from their account. Also, we have noticed several manufacturers had been selling medical face masks and other PPE for healthcare settings with "fake" certificates.
Q4- What Are The Biggest Challenges You Face/Obstacles During The Pandemic?
The 2020 pandemic taught us some tight lessons during lockdown that affected workforce productivity and changed the complete working format of the organization. We faced a huge issue in communication in working among employees during this period that was gradually solved by video conferencing websites, audio calls etc.
We also had to cancel trade shows, events and exposition and had to conduct virtual events using social networking sites for product promotion and product launch.
We also faced an issue in working of logistics department during lockdown due to remote working. Zoom sessions, group WhatsApp calls, uninterrupted high speed internet service that were solved through various activities, training sessions organized by the HR team helped the team to stay focused and in right spirit.
We faced severe manpower shortage at the port, transport unavailability and various government regulations which kept changing daily.
Post unlock phase challenge was to ensure non-turbulent working procedure and ensuring a safe environment for our workforce through regular sanitization, maintaining proper temperature records. With the opening of industries during unlock phases, with increased presence of workers within the factory premises, we adopted to a SOP in the post COVID situation.
Q5- Why Is Improving Safety Culture So Important In Your Point Of View For Global Market?
Work injuries and illnesses can make workers suffer from low self-esteem, loss of independence, mental health problems, other medical problems, and damaged relationships. A safe and healthy workplace not only protects workers from injury and illness, it can also lower injury/illness costs, reduce absence and turnover, increase productivity and quality, and raise employee morale.
In other words, safety is good for business. For business, one injury can mean financial disaster. It might cost production losses, wages for work not performed, increased worker's compensation insurance costs, damage to equipment or machinery, hiring and/or training new employees, decline in product quality and worker morale, decline in worker morale, high turnover, and lost work time. The cost of workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths is much greater than the cost of worker's compensation insurance alone.
Q6- How Is The Market For Safety Equipment In India? Which End-User Industries Are The Key Demand Drivers For Your Products?
The Indian PPE market is increasing at CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 12% due to adoption of strict regulatory framework for the safety of workers against various health risks in hazardous working environments. The excessive cost associated with workplace hazards post unlocking the economy, technological innovations for improved PPE fabric resulting in reduction of weight of the equipment has increased PPE demand in the country, thereby giving a healthy push to the Indian Personal Protection Equipment Market.
The main key demand drivers for our products are healthcare and fabrication industries, Construction and automotive sectors, Oil & Gas industry, Pharmaceutical industry, F&B industry. Healthcare sector are seeing increasing market adoption for personal protection equipment owing to continuously increase in COVID -19 cases.
Q7- What Is Your Message And Final Thought That You Would Like To Share With Our Readers?

In 2021, we plan to outperform the Indian market growth by adopting modern technologies and focusing on PPEs with comfort, design, and safety.
